I always knew there were urban legends that Elvis, Jim Morrison, Andy Kaufman and others were still alive and well on a beach in Cuba, Fiji or even on the moon, but it was news to me this past week that the same theories abound for late rapper, Tupac Shakur.  It is amazing to me how much money Tupac is making posthumously and he is the busiest dead guy I know about – how does he fit in all these performances???  So, when the April 21st installment of the Wall Street Journal Sentiment Tracker covered the response in social media to the hologram of Tupac at Coachella last weekend, I was surprised that 29% of the conversations pulled from Facebook and Twitter revolved around theories that Tupac’s death had been faked. The rest of the conversation broke down into 56% finding the hologram cool, 13% finding it creepy and 2% cracking jokes about the whole fiasco. Check out some extra verbatim from the creative theories we found using NetBase:

I still really think Tupac is alive, Coachella is another example for me..

So I need to discuss a couple things real quick, Twitter!! First of all, I know we’re all very excited to know #Tupac is still alive!

That tupac hologram is crazy, I swear he is still alive.

Do you buy into the theories? Let me know what you think!
