As a regular road warrior, I’m pretty up to date on changing TSA and airline policies, and I was pretty taken aback by the announcement last week that TSA is now allowing knives up to 2.36 inches long on planes. I’ve been stopped for items as benign as baby bottles and book marks, and most restaurants in terminals will only give you a plastic knife, so this is a real turn of events! The March 9th installment of the Wall Street Journal Sentiment Tracker covered the response on Facebook and Twitter to this new announcement, and found that an overwhelming 76% are against the new rules, while 18% are in favor and 6% cracked jokes. I couldn’t help but laugh at all of the jokes about how knives are allowed…but shampoo and water are not. Check out some of the extra jokes below:

RT @DjNiKki: Soooo…we can now bring pocket knives on airplanes but toothpaste is still banned????   Good going.

RT @Travon: “baseball bat, ok.  Pool cue, fine.  Small knife, no worries.  SIR, IS THAT A BOTTLE OF WATER?!  HAND IT OVER!”  – TSA Agents in 2013.

So TSA will allow knives but we still have to disrobe before getting on a plane.  I’m confused.

So how do you feel about flying now? Let me know in the comments!
