The 2018 FIFA World CUP Russia has begun and the whole world is buzzing about it.

When we look at the number of social media posts per capita, the UK takes the trophy as the most excited country in the run up to this year’s World Cup. Iceland, the Cinderella story of this year’s tournament, is also showing strong support as our runner up in the most per capita posts followed by Uruguay and Australia. Interestingly, the United States ranks extremely high in pre-World Cup posts per capita even though the team will not be participating this year.
